3 Easy Tips to Stay Healthy and Warm This Winter!

           Hello, and welcome to my first blog post here at 'Enchanted Living Spaces'. I have been meaning to start a blog to help my followers with helpful tips and tricks to enhance the energy in their homes. 2017 is looking like a great year to start! My new blog series will touch upon the many subjects I teach; decluttering, energy clearing, Feng Shui, life coaching, and my new passion, Chinese Herbal Medicine studies. These upcoming blog posts will aim to help you achieve success in all areas of your life. I will teach you new lessons, give you ideas, inspire you and enrich your knowledge. I am also going to include a book highlight here and there. I read many, many books and must share all the good ones with my followers :) I hope you love reading as much as I do. 

So whats new, you ask?

  1. I have been starting to work on a new FREEBIE which will be coming your way soon. Very exciting. I am planning on creating more free content to help you in your journeys. This new downloadable freebie will contain easy ways to enhance the energy in your home! I will be sending an email to my subscribers when it is really :) be excited it is going to be so helpful!

  2. I am SO EXCITED to tell you that I am working on an ONLINE DECLUTTERING COURSE! I have two tester clients right now working with me to create the best possible product. I am hoping to launch the product sometime in the spring and hopefully, will run the program every year as my new signature course. It is going to be amazing, and going to help so many people. I will be writing about it shortly after. Be excited!!!

Since this is my first blog I figured I would share a few tips! It is January and obviously many of us have created new resolutions for the new year! I would love to share some tips for those of us who experience a true winter, and help you maintain optimum health during this time. Winter is symbolic of restfulness. A time of true 'down-time', and hibernation until the beautiful Spring weather comes and we set seeds to be grown. Winter is represented by the Water element in Chinese Medicine, and is symbolic of the North direction. 

  1. I want you to ask yourself if you have been giving yourself enough rest. It is so important during this season because as earthly beings, we are meant to mimic the natural seasons of our planet. The sun goes down early, it is cold and the landscape is often barren. Truly, winter is the season of rest. So my first tip would be to check in with yourself and really ask your body if you need more rest. Are you pushing yourself too much? Are you slacking on sleep time to get work done? Are you overexerting yourself in exercise? Maybe instead of doing a HIIT work out, you try a slower paced work out like yoga. Maybe you should try and be in bed by 9pm with no excuses. If any of this resonates with you, make it a priority for your health to GET MORE REST. You truly need to take of yourself, especially during this time of year when lots of microbes are floating around... they don't call it flu season for no reason!

  2. My next tip is to check in with your body and see if it is craving the warmth. Do you feel cold often during the winter to the point where you need to wear heavy clothing all the time? Do you find yourself reaching for warm drinks instead of cooler ones or gravitate more towards soups instead of cold fruit? Everything we eat has a temperature to it. If you are craving more heat, ask yourself if there are more ways you can incorporate warming foods into your diet. What are these types of foods you ask? Meats, oats, quinoa, most beans, mustard greens, winter squashes, fennel, garlic, scallions, chives, onions, kale, cabbage, chestnuts, cherries, and hot peppers amongst others. Start creating WARM meals! Get your soups in, roast your veggies, cook your fruit into muffins.

  3. Most important, get some HERBAL TEA in your body! Herbal teas that contain ginger root, aconite root, and cinnamon bark are just a few amongst many that will help to warm you up and keep your immune system at optimum function.
